The Officers and members of Barnstead Fire-Rescue would like to

pay tribute to several of our past members.

Lt. Timothy Smith, who suffered a brain aneurysm in December 2008, and

his family and friends remain steadfast in our thoughts and prayers.

It was with great sadness to report the passing of Firefighter Scott Vick on January 12, 2011.

On December 29, 2006, 40-year veteran firefighter Steve Jones died of heart failure while transporting a truck to Maine for routine maintenance.  We said good bye to our brother at a memorial service held on January 6, 2007.

In October 2007, Firefighter Jones family received the Paul W. Sypek medal of valor awarded posthumously by

the NH Fire Service and EMS Committee of Merit.  Through generous donations, a mobile support unit to assist

other departments through the Granite State Fire Service Support Team was dedicated in memory of "Jonesy".

Several members attended a ceremony  in October 2009 at the National Firefighters Memorial at the

National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg, MD where Firefighter Jones was honored.
